Congress has betrayed the AIUDF: MLA Aminul Islam

Guwahati, April 7, 2019:

Dhing MLA of All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), Aminul Islam has alleged that the Congress party had a secret understanding with the AIUDF regarding the allotment of candidates in Barpeta and Dhubri Lok Sabha constituency, but went back on its word at the last moment.

Speaking to InsideNE, Aminul Islam said, “There were discussions with Congress in past and they approached for a 'secret understanding'. Congress assured us that they would not field candidates in Dhubri and Barpeta Constituencies but after the last date of Koliabor nomination, they gave nominees in both the constituencies.”

It is to be mentioned that the allegation of the Congress and AIUDF having reached a secret understanding has been a key issue during the campaign address for opposition parties.
