GUWAHATI: Congress MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi could be mulling a move to the opposing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) camp, if reports are to be believed.
According to reports, Kurmi, who represents the Mariani Constituency, could make the switch within the next 2-3 days.
He is reportedly in Guwahati to complete the final formalities before the switch.
It is being speculated that Kurmi could announce his resignation once he reaches Guwahati.
Kurmi, who belongs to the tea tribe community and represents their interests in the Assembly, could hold the key to the BJP conquering the entirety of the Upper Assam.

Earlier this year, it was buoyed by the entry of Ajanta Neog, a senior Congresswoman who was a part of the Tarun Gogoi-led Congress cabinet.
It needs mention here that this is not the first time that Kurmi has been linked to the BJP.
Last year, it was speculated that he would be joining the BJP. However, he denied these rumours and said that he saw a dream of his mother who told him not to leave Congress for the BJP.
