Congress MLAs Rupjyoti Kurmi and Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha on Tuesday visited martyr Maneshwar Basumatary’s residence and have announced to offer their one month salary to the martyr’s family.
Addressing the media, both the MLA’s said, “We will urge the members of the Vidhan Sabha assembly to give away their one month salary to the martyr’s family and also request the Assam Government to offer a government job to his kin within fifteen to thirty days.”
Moreover, they raised a question to the government that despite having an intelligence report on the terrorist activity, why the government didn’t take any actions regarding the safety of the jawans.
The Congress party will offer full support to the government to wash out terrorism from the country. Those who posted anti-national posts over social media, strong actions should be taken against them, they added.
It may be mentioned that many influential people have visited martyr Maneswar Basumatary’s residence to show their support for his utmost sacrifice for the nation.
Martyr Basumatary lost his life in the deadliest terror attack in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir where almost 49 brave hearts were martyred.
