Congress MP Pradyut Bordoloi Takes Stock of Sonowal-led Govt Policies

Congress MP Pradyut Bordoloi has demanded a detailed release of information on the state affairs ranging from government policies such as Advantage Assam to the current employment rate from Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

While speaking at a press conference, MP Pradyut Bordoloi raised questions on the Sonowal-led state government’s Advantage Assam Scheme. He demanded that the government should release as to how much money has been spent in the name of the scheme and also the investment sectors.

Bordoloi said, “CM Sonowal said that Rs. 80,000 Crore has been invested already on Advantage Assam. However, we want to know where has the money been invested.”

The Congress MP also demanded information on the employment status of Assam. “We want to know how many youths have been employed till date and how many are still unemployed.”

Mocking CM Sonowal indirectly for not addressing the public issues, Bordoloi said, “The rock has finally spoken.” He added, “The Chief Minister said that the recently slashed Corporate Tax will benefit the common people. However, let me tell you that this is pure lie. This will not benefit the general public. It will, in fact, benefit Ambani, Adani and only a few corporate communities that surround PM Modi.”

The Congress MP took stock of the rising prices of vegetables and oil in the state and demanded that the reasons for price-rise should be conveyed to the public.
