Trinamool Congress (TMC) is entangling itself in more legal trouble following the ruckus its eight-member delegation created at Kumbhirgram airport in Silchar on Thursday after being not allowed to leave the airport.
Two women personnel of the Assam Police, who were hurt at the airport following alleged physical assault by members of the delegation, have filed an FIR against the TMC members at Udarbond Police Station in Cachar district.
A case under Sections 323 and 353 IPC has been registered.
Already several FIRs have been filed against TMC chief and West Bengali Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in different police stations, accusing her of trying to incite communal tension among communities in Assam with her provoking statements post publication of the complete draft of National Register of Citizens.
On the other hand, as already reported by InsideNE, two counter-complaints have also been filed in two different police stations – Alipur and NSCBI – in Kolkata on Friday by three members of the TMC delegation who were detained at Kumbhirgram airport and barred from entering Guwahati too.
