GUWAHATI: All the offline classes in the Cotton University have been suspended until further notice as the varsity is going to conduct offline examinations for under-graduates of the first semester due to the rampant spread of the coronavirus.
On the other hand, the examinations will commence from April following all COVID-19 protocols.
The decisions came into effect after a meeting held among the dean, academic registrar, controller of examinations, vice president CUTA and the registrar on April 9.

However, practical classes for the post-graduate 1st semester students as well as remaining odd semester practical examinations might continue in small groups by the concerned departments.
Although the offline classes will be suspended so the examinations can be conducted with adherence to the COVID-19 protocols, the faculty members, official or staff members cannot leave station/headquarter without prior permission of the University authorities.
The faculty members of the Cotton University have been asked to be present in the University for invigilation and other official duties.
The decision regarding suspension of offline classes shall be reviewed again on May 5, the Cotton University circular stated. "Online classes will continue to compensate the suspended offline classes for the time being," it added.
