Three sitting members of Parliament of the ruling BJP are likely to be replaced with new faces in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
As per reports, though a formal discussion over allotment of tickets is yet to begin in the party, there are enough indications that two or three MPs may be denied the ticket this time.
Although there is no official word yet of BJP on the issue, sources from the party said some old faces might be replaced with new ones in the next year’s general elections.
There are also speculations that the party’s MP from Mangaldai Ramen Deka might be shifted to Guwahati.
It is also being said that if Deka gets the candidature from Guwahati, then former MLA Jayanta Malla Baruah might be given the BJP ticket for contesting from Mangaldai.
There are also reports of Tezpur MP RP Sharma being denied the ticket as his daughter was arrested recently for her alleged involvement in the infamous cash-for-job scam.
