The water levels in some districts have been receding after the devastating flood in the state of Assam. Over 30 lakh people affected and 67 people lost their life.
As on Sunday, total 2,283 villages in 59 revenue circles of 18 districts viz. Dhemaji, Biswanath, Darrang, Barpeta, Nalbari, Chirang, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Dhubri, South Salmara, Goalpara, Kamrup, Kamrup (M), Morigaon, Nagaon, Golaghat, Jorhat and Cachar, are having flood waters affecting a population of 30, 55, 837.
Presently, 644 Relief Camps are operational in the districts of Dhemaji, Biswanath, Darrang, Barpeta, Chirang, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Dhubri, Goalpara, Kamrup, Morigaon, Nagaon, KarbiAnglong, Golaghat, Jorhat and Cachardistricts with 96,890 inmates and 113 Relief Distribution Centres in the districts of Darrang, Barpeta, Kokrajhar, Dhubri, Kamrup, Morigaon, and Golaghat.

A total of two persons have lost their lives due to flood in the districts of Dhemaji (1), and Dhubri (1), in the last 24 hours. The total death toll has risen to 67 persons in Flood and 2 persons in the landslide.
The Governor also made an aerial survey of flood in the districts of Darrang, Morigaon, Nagaon, and Golaghat
The water level of Rivers at Danger Level: Brahmaputra at Neamatighat (Jorhat) and Dhubri and JiaBharali at N.T. Road Xing (Sonitpur).
