Addressing the media, Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary has addressed the Clause 6 of the Assam Accord which provides appropriate constitutional, political reservation, legislative and administrative safeguards to protect, preserve and promote the cultural, social, linguistic identity and heritage of the Assamese people.

“If we look it in a positive perspective, this is an achievement for the Assamese people as the 35 years old accord did not witness such decisions over the years. If they implement it in political grounds as well, the future of Assamese people will be safeguarded in this aspect. Otherwise, the people in the state have been betrayed from a long time back. The decision is good, however, it depends to what extent the Clause 6 of the accord is been implemented,” said the MP.
