Dhola Incident | ULFA leaders granted bailULFA

Guwahati, November 15, 2018:

The Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kamrup Metro has granted bail to United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) leaders Mrinal Hazarika and Jiten Dutta who were under judicial custody for the past 14 days.

Mrinal Hazarika and Jiten Dutta were arrested few days ago for allegedly making communal and provocative statements which partly led towards the infamous Dhola killings.

The ULFA leaders were arrested immediately after the Dhola incident and were sent to 14 days judicial custody but on Friday, both were granted bail.

It may be mentioned that on November 1, five persons of a particular community were killed by unidentified gunmen dressed in Army camouflage uniforms. It has been suspected that the gunmen were militants of the proscribed United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) but the outfit later on denied having any involvement in the killings.

Some organisations have even alleged that the government is involved in the killings.
