DIBRUGARH: The Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) authority has decided to close the Outpatient Department (OPD) services for the next 14 days with immediate effect and until further order.
However, regular emergency services will be available 24 hours a day, a week during this period.
The decision was made to deputise the medical staff in COVID-19 wards.
According to reports, the number of frequent patients in the OPD has decreased in recent days due to the uncertain situation.

Furthermore, during this period, all employees of Dibrugarh AMCH are required to remain in their respective departments in order to provide their services.
Assam on the other hand recorded 55 more deaths due to COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, taking the death toll in the state to 1,485, while 4,826 fresh positive cases took the tally to 2,72,751.
Assam currently has 29,915 active COVID-19 cases.
