Paban Singh Ghatowar, who is the Congress candidate from Dibrugarh Constituency, took part in the largest democratic exercise by casting his vote today in the early hours of the morning. Ghatowar will go toe-to-toe with sitting BJP MP Rameshwar Teli for the Lok Sabha throne in Dibrugarh. He cast his vote at the Moran Higher Secondary School at Moran in Assam's Dibrugarh district.
Addressing the press at the polling station, the Former Minister said: "I am pleased to take part in the biggest democratic exercise. I urge the voting public to cast their votes. I hope the polling is conducted in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility and everyone should be able to vote without fear."
The Lok Sabha elections in Assam will be held in three phases on April 11, 18, and 23. Voting is underway in five constituencies: Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Lakhimpur, Kaliabor, and Tezpur.
