GUWAHATI: Dibrugarh emerged the champions in the 9th All-Assam Inter-District Lawn Bowls Championships, organised by Lawn Bowling Association Assam (LBAA) at the Lawn Bowls Green in Sarusajai Sports Complex, here from January 28 to 31.
Golaghat and Sivasagar ended up first and second runners-up respectively in the four-day event that concluded on Sunday evening and participated by 12 affiliated districts of the LBAA.
The Dibrugarh bowlers tallied two gold, two silver and two bronze medals. Golaghat wrapped up their campaign with two gold, a silver and a bronze.

Ruptu Gogoi of Dibrugarh and Nayanmoni Saikia of Golaghat were adjudged the best male and female players of the championships.
The presentation ceremony was attended by LBAA president Durgadas Boro, vice presidents Anup Choudhury, Nikheswar Saikia and Gautam Choudhury, secretary Naba Basumatary and organising committee chairman Manoj Saikia among others. They conferred away the prizes to the winners.
