A local leader of Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) in Dima Hasao district has alleged that he was brutally beaten up by two supporters of David Bathari, who is a BJP leader and Executive Member of Dima Hasao District Autonomous Council.
Nolesh Nunisa, who is an anchalik president of AGP, has lodged an FIR with Haflong Police station on Thursday. He alleged that he was dragged into Bathari’s vehicle and beaten up by the duo for two hours.
AGP and BJP are constituents in the state’s coalition government but in Dima Hasao, they are virtual rivals.
