Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) has approved development projects worth Rs. 3,000 Crore in the entire Northeastern region.
It has given a nod to more than 200 projects dealing with road construction, water supply and the related areas.
DoNER Minister Jitendra Singh announced the sanction of these mega projects that include construction of double-lane road from Lanka to Umrangso worth Rs. 199.50 Crore, Digboi town water supply scheme construction worth Rs 44.52 Crore and setting up the first Bamboo Industrial Park in Assam.

He said that out of these mega projects, 110 projects worth Rs. 1699 Crore were sanctioned for the development of the North East states. Out of these, 66 projects costing Rs. 820 Crore have been completed.
