Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that she does not see any problem with the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam.
PM Sheikh Hasina, after a discussion with her Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, made this remark. Prime Minister Modi has assured Hasina that Bangladesh should not be worried over the NRC implementation in Assam.

The Bangladesh Prime Minister has arrived in New Delhi to attend the ongoing World Economic Forum’s India Economic Summit.
Hasina told Modi that the NRC has become a matter of ‘great concern’ for Bangladesh in a meet in New York.
It may be mentioned that the World Economic Forum's 33rd edition of the India Economic Summit aims to discuss the emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and drones, environmental reforms, infrastructure, gender parity, start-up unicorns, education, and South Asia’s economic outlook.

This is the first time that the Bangladesh Prime Minister has visited India after the publication of Assam NRC. The final draft has been the subject of debate after its publication on August 31. The citizenship exercise was aimed at freeing the northeast state from illegal immigrants from Bangladesh. More than 19 lakh people were excluded in the final NRC.
