Drug peddler arrested in Bongaigaon; contraband substances recovered

CHIRANG: In an operation against illegal drug trafficking conducted last night, Chirang police arrested one drug peddler in Bongaigaon.

The accused has been identified as Abu Bakkar Siddique, a resident of Pachim Gerukabari village under Manikpur police station, Bongaigaon. However, one peddler managed to escape.

Chirang police led by Superintend of Police (SP) Addl, along with Bijni Police station arrested Bakkar Siddique while attempting to deliver suspected psychotropic substances, and recovered 54 plastic containers containing suspected psychotropic substances, 93 empty Plastic containers, 3 empty soap case, 41 nos lighter, 3 mobile handsets from their possession.
