DIBRUGARH: Pallav Gopal Jha, the district magistrate of Dibrugarh in Assam has ordered dry day tomorrow across the distrct.
All kinds of liquor stores, sale of liquor in hotels and clubs, country made liquor shops, etc shall be closed during the day.
According to an official release, this has been done "in order to maintain peace and tranquility during Dol Yatra (Holi) festival."

The order has been made under section 52(1) of the Assam Excise Act, 2000.
Violation of this order will be subject to disciplinary action under the Assam Excise Act, the order said.
Meanwhile, the district administration of Kamrup (Metro) has also declared a dry day tomorrow in order to maintain public order.
