Guwahati, October 3, 2019:

The Baruwari Tokobari Durga Puja Committee of Assam’s Guwahati has come up with a Pandal designed with recycled materials.

With skilled artists from Kolkata, the Tokobari Puja Pandal has creatively used readily available wood scraps, local fruit seeds, flower seeds and many other local produce in its decor.

According to committee members, Tokobari first organized Durga Puja back in 1942. Since then, the committee has been executing unique ideas in its Puja decor.

This year’s preparation took 2 months with manpower of 48 people. A total of Rs. 30 lakh has been spent in the entire preparation.

This year Tokobari has made a replica of south Indian temples. In 2018, this committee bagged first position for Pandal decor.
