Earthquake 
GUWAHATI: An earthquake of 5.4 magnitude on the Richter scale jolted Assam and its adjoining areas at 8.49 pm today, according to National Center for Seismology (NCS).
Tremors were felt in most parts of the Northeast, including Assam, and North Bengal.
The quake occurred 26 km east southeast of Gangtok in Sikkim. According to reports, the quake was also felt in Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and China.
No damage to life or property has been reported so far.
