Eid ul-Adha celebrated with fervour in NE

Along with the rest of the country, the holy festival of Eid ul-Adha was celebrated with much fervour and gaiety across the North-eastern States on Wednesday.

The devout offered namaz in various idgahs and wished one another on the occasion.

In fact, the atmosphere in most places wore a festive look as children donned colourful dresses since early morning, while colourful arches were erected at many places to wish the people on the occasion.

Preparation and serving of various delicacies to family and friends also made the day all the more special.

In Guwahati too, along with other locations, namaz was offered at Machkhowa Idgah at 8.30 am.

According to Abdul Mannan, imam of Machkhowa masjid, special prayers were made seeking Allah’s blessings for overall peace and prosperity, besides for the youth and armed forces personnel.
