GUWAHATI: The Ministry of Railways to launch electric train service in Assam by March. The electric train will run from New Bongaigaon to Rangia from March, while it will run till Guwahati from May which will extend to Lumding, and Dibrugarh, this was informed by Nripen Bhattacharyya, Public Relation Officer of Northeast Frontier Railway (NRF).

 

Ministry of Railways sharing the pictures of working railway man overhead electric line wrote on Twitter, “Indian Railways marching ahead towards Net Zero Carbon Emission network. Catch a glimpse of a Railwayman working on the overhead electric line in the bright sunshine. The electrification work is progressing swiftly near Guwahati in Northeast Frontier Railway.”

 

 

 

 

The charging station for the electric trains will be at Bongaigaon, Sorbhog, Nalbari, and Kamakhya.

Bhattacharyya informed that as it will take short time to reach the destinations it will be more beneficial for the passengers.

He further said that the electric run goods train has already reached Cooch Bihar, while 200 workers are working day and night for providing the service of the electric train.
