To the dismay of desi cricket lovers of the country, the girls of the England women’s cricket team have handed the Indian girls a 3-0 whitewash in the T-20 series that was being conducted in Guwahati from .
In the final match of the series held on March 9, the England cricket team pipped the Indian girls by a single run to script a memorable victory.
Chasing a moderate 120 runs, the home team struggled to 118/6 in the allotted twenty overs.
Smriti Mandhana scored a fluent 58 for the home team while Mithali Raj chipped in with 30 runs.
Earlier, India managed to restrict England to 119/6 in their 20 overs, thanks to off-spinners Anuja and Harleen Deol, who took two wickets each while Ekta Bisht and Poonam Yadav chipped in with a wicket each.
It is to be mentioned that the ACA had made the entry for three matches held on March 4, 7 and 9 which were held in Barsapara Cricket Stadium in the city free in a bid to promote women’s cricket in the region.
