Guwahati, February 16, 2020:

Former Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) and Assam Congress member Habul Chakraborty passed away at the age of 60.

The Congress leader was admitted to a local hospital of Dhekiajuli following respiratory problems. He breathed his last on his way to Tezpur Medical College and Hospital for better treatment.

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Bora expressed his deepest condolences to the departed soul and his family. He said that Chakraborty was a great asset, who supported the party with all his might.

Habul Chakraborty was born on February 1, 1960. In 2011, he was elected as the MLA of Dhekiajuli constituency. The senior leader was also a member of the Municipality Board.

APCC’s Ripun Bora paid tribute to the late Congress leader and extended his condolences to the Chakraborty family.
