Suspense over the election dates has finally come to an end, as the Election Commission has announced the dates of the election in Assam along with the Constituencies.
As per the Election Commission’s announcement, the Assam election will be held in three phases on April 11 (Phase-I), April 18 (Phase-II) and April 23 (Phase-III), but the exact dates when the election will be held in each Constituency was not known until very recently.
Now, the Election Commission has confirmed the dates on which the election will be held in each Constituency in Assam. They are:
April 11 (Phase-I) – Tezpur, Koliabor, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, and Lakhimpur
April 18 (Phase II) – Karimganj, Silchar, Autonomous district (Dima Hasao & Karbi Anglong), Mangaldai and Nowgong
April 23 (Phase III) – Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Barpeta, and Guwahati
Official figures put the total number of voters in Assam at 2,17,60,604. The counting of votes will be held on 23 May.
