Exclusive: Race for new CP: Deepak Kumar or Anurag Agarwal?

Guwahati, December 28, 2018:

As the retirement of the current Commissioner of Police, Pradip Saloi, approaches (he will retire on December 31), the race to become the next Commissioner has heated up. Deepak Kumar, IGP (L&O) and Anurag Agarwal IGP (BTAD) are the likely replacements.

Although both candidates are said to be close to securing the position, Deepak Kumar has edged ahead in the race, according to internal sources.

At present, Deepak Kumar is posted as the IGP (L&O), Assam Police and Anurag Agarwal is posted as the IGP BTAD.
