A factory that was engaged in making fake gold artifacts was busted by the Lakhimpur Police in Banglarmora in North Lakhimpur district.
The police in a raid recovered a huge amount of fake gold artifacts, alloys and metals.
The police carried out the operation after the arrest of two persons identified as Hasan Ali and Khujrat Ali while they were attempting to sell a fake gold statue to a person from Bihar. After the arrest, the police came to know about a factory and the alleged racket.
The police in their operation raided a house being used as factory and recovered four fake gold boats, 13 fake Jesus Christ statues and at least 15 fake statues of other gods.
The police are after recovering the fake gold products, destroyed the factory and registered a case.
