Accusing Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her MPs and MLAs of trying to incite social tension and destabilise Assam through their outrageous comments, BJP Yuva Morcha Dibrugarh District Committee filed an FIR against her at Naharkatiya police station in Dibrugarh district on Tuesday.
Following publication of the complete draft of National Register of Citizens (NRC) on Monday, Banerjee on Tuesday warned of a "civil war".
Not to be left behind, TMC MPs too created a ruckus in Parliament on Tuesday alleging that lakhs of Bengali Hindus and Muslims have been deliberately left out of the NRC draft in a bid to make them “Stateless” and accused the BJP of “divide and rule”.
Meanwhile, a TMC delegation comprising its MPs and MLAs is reaching Assam on Thursday on a two-day visit on in order to assess the situation in the State.
