FIR FILED AGAINST MRINAL HAZARIKA IN KORAJHAR POLICE STATION

Guwahati, October 27, 2018:

An FIR has been lodged against United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) pro-talk leader Mrinal Hazarika after his explosive comments on the Bengali organisations.

The All BTC (Bodoland Territorial Council) Bengali Youth Students’ Federation (ABBYSF) Kokrajhar district committee has filed the FIR against the Pro-Talk ULFA leader at the Fakiragram police station.

ABBYSF activists said in the FIR that the provocative comments of the leader may cause serious communal conflict as it has hurt the sentiments of Bengali community of the state.

Speaking to InsideNe, Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police Rajen Singh said that the case will be forwarded to Geetanagar Police Station in Guwahati as the meeting where Hazarika had passed the comments falls under it’s jurisdiction.

It may be mentioned that on October 25, Hazarika lashed out on the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016. He said that if the CAB is passed then they will be compelled to create a 1983 like situation.
