FIR filed against AJYCP leader for Threatening Senior Journalist in Lakhimpur

Guwahati (Assam), September 3, 2018:

Members of the North Lakhimpur Press Club filed an FIR against the secretary of the Lakhimpur unit of the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parichad (AJYCP) Niran Baruah for allegedly threatening to kill a senior journalist on Monday.

Niran Baruah has been accused of threatening senior journalist Kumud Baruah over the phone on Monday after some heated argument on some ‘personal issues’. After the incident, the members of North Lakhimpur Press Club held a meeting and resolved that an FIR should be filed on him.

Apart from Filing an FIR, the members have also appealed the AJYCP’s central members to take strict actions against the district secretary. Currently the police are verifying the facts of the whole incident.
