FIR lodged against Assam Youth for ‘I stand with Pakistan Army’ post on Facebook

Guwahati, March 5, 2019:

An FIR has been lodged against a youth hailing from Kaliabar in Assam’s Nagaon district for ‘supporting’ the Pakistani Army on social media platform Facebook. The youth, Tajul Islam, uploaded a ‘profile picture’ on Facebook with the words ‘I stand with Pakistan Army’ splashed across it.

“We got to know that a youth shared a post on Facebook supporting Pakistan Army. We came to know that the youth belongs to no. 3 Borghuli Village under Uluani Police Station. We went to his place of residence and although we did not find him there, locals handed him over to us. He has admitted that he posted that from his Facebook profile and an FIR has been lodged against him. In all probability, he will be arrested in regards to this case”, said a local police officer.
