The incessant rain has now submerged most of the places in lower Assam.
The second wave of the flood has now affected most of the people till the chest-deep waters at lower Assam region. Meanwhile, the District Administrations of all the districts in the issued alerts for the people to be prepared for any disaster.
Bhutan has also sounded alarm that it would release the excessive waters collected due to incessant rains in the country.
Red Alert has also been raised in the Barpeta district and SDRF and NDRF have been deployed along with boats.

The flood has devastated acres of agricultural land and washed away houses.
The rivers in lower Assam- Puthimari, Kaldia, Beki, Pohumara, and Burhadia have crossed the danger level and taken a horrific form.
While speaking to Inside Northeast, Bongaigaon Deputy Commissioner, Adil Khan said, “Right now the situation is under control and the rivers in the district are flowing on trend. Bhutan is releasing water in a controlled manner and so far there is no impact. Even if the water rises, we have placed sufficient SDRF and NDRF teams in the vulnerable regions so if water rises we’ll be able to shift the people.”
Adil Khan also mentioned that four teams of NDRF and two teams of SDRF with the requisition of two more SDRF teams which in total is eight teams along with eight boats. While three more NDRF boats have been put on standby at the district headquarters for any emergency.
