The Gajraj Corps of the Indian Army celebrated its 56th Raising Day at its headquarters in Tezpur district of Assam. On this occasion, Lt Gen G S Sangha, SM, VSM, GOC Gajraj Corps paid homage to martyrs during wreath laying ceremony and complimented all personnel for their dedication and devotion beyond the call of duty while serving in Counter Insurgency areas of Assam as well as in the inclement weather and remote areas of Arunachal Pradesh besides aiding civil population in the hours of need.
The Gajraj Corps was raised by Lt Gen B M Kaul at Tezpur on 04 Oct 1962 in the midst of Indo-China conflict.
