Gajraj Tragedy: Elephant dies of electrocution in Kaziranga

In a tragic incident of elephantine proportions, a wild elephant was electrocuted in Kaziranga after it came in contact with a live wire planted near a paddy field last night.

According to local sources, the elephant had come to the village looking for food.

As per reports, an electric fence was had been erected by a villager named Hussain Ali around his plantation to keep away elephants and other wild animals from causing damage to the crops.

Meanwhile, an injured elephant that was found in Mirza on the outskirts of Guwahati city on Monday has also succumbed to its injuries.
