Gambling ring busted in Assam's Biswanath district

Guwahati, February 6, 2019:

Based on specific information, a team of Biswanath police and CRPF apprehended six gamblers at Sapekhati weekly Bazar under Sootea Police Station.

A rolling instrument and a chart of 4 numbers (used in the game) and cash to the tune of Rs.4420 were seized from their possession.

The six accused have been identified as Junaram Kurmi, Megha Pan Tati, Dilip Proja, Lalu Karmakar, Ranjit Khodal and Gasram Koya.

The accused have been handed over to concerned authorities. Further details are awaited.
