GUWAHATI: The Gauhati High Court has granted two more weeks to the state government to clarify the ground reality regarding the insistence of non-COVID certificate for admission to various hospitals .

A division bench, headed by Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia, granted the further two-week time to file the affidavit.

In a PIL, No 48/2020, Congress MLA Debabrata Saikia has stated that various instances were brought into notice of the court regarding refusal of hospitals across the state to entertain urgent admissions of many critically ill patients due to non production of COVID negative medical certificate.
