Students of the prestigious 'Gauhati University' in Assam have come together to oppose the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill. A resolve to fight against the CAB has been taken by the students of the University, and they have resolved to fight against the Bill at any cost.
Meanwhile, videos of Assamese students across the country (and even abroad!) extending their support to Gauhati University's protest were circulated over social media to inform and urge the public to join the mass protest in order to save Assam from the Citizenship Bill. Students from the Aligarh Muslim University, Tezpur University, Banaras Hindu University, and Delhi University, etc, have extended solidarity to their GU brethren ahead of the massive protest.

It may be mentioned here that discussion on the Bill is underway in the Lok Sabha today and the final call is expected to be taken today.
The opposition against CAB across Assam has intensified. After Cotton University Students’ Union started its War Cry against the Citizenship Bill, Gauhati University has announced Akou Horaighat, A massive protest against the contentious Bill.
Akou Horaighat which literally translates to Again Saraighat is another battle for the Assamese. Meanwhile, protests against the Bill have been raging across Assam, and other parts of the Northeast against the contentious Bill.
