JORHAT: Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi's latest journey to the hinterland of Assam took him to West Jorhat, where he was seen showing off some dance moves with Mising tribe locals, who are currently celebrating the tribe's biggest festival -- Ali-Aye-Ligang.
Taking a leaf out of BJP Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's book, Gaurav was seen dancing to the infectious tunes of Mising 'Bihu' -- a folk phenomenon that is especially popular in Upper Assam.
Wearing a traditional hand-crafted Mising scarf across his forehead, the Congressman was seen swaying his arms and legs with utter delight.

Back in 2019, with prime minister Narendra Modi seeking re-election, Himanta Biswa Sarma had danced with full gusto to pro-BJP music at rallies, earning a reputation as a 'dancer.'
Clips of the minister dancing went viral on social media, causing netizens to wonder and marvel at the Minister's 'secret' talent.
Apart from song and dance, Gogoi was also treated to local delicacies by the locals, who had arranged a delicious feast.
Gogoi, who took part in the traditional rituals of the community, such as 'splitting of the bamboo', and spent the night at the residence of a certain Anil Pegu.
"We have arranged all the ethnic dishes. Be it pork, fish -- we have arranged everything that we have. We are delighted to host Mr. Gogoi at the village and hope he comes back again," Pegu, the host, told newsmen.
