Gaurav, Pradyut, and Khaleque register wins for Congress in Assam

Guwahati, May 23, 2019:

Finally some good news for the Congress party in Assam! The grand old party has finally secured three victories in the key Lok Sabha constituencies of Kaliabor (candidate: Gaurav Gogoi), Barpeta (candidate: Abdul Khaleque), and Nowgong (candidate: Pradyut Bordoloi).

Gaurav Gogoi, Pradyut Bordoloi, and Abdul Khaleque have secured three important victories for the Congress in what has otherwise been a very forgettable election for the Congress.

Meanwhile, the BJP has secured victories or are leading in nine Lok Sabha constituencies in Assam.

Independent candidate Hira Sarania, meanwhile, is holding onto a slim lead in Kokrajhar in the final phases of counting.
