GUWAHATI: The medical board of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) has declared Rajkanya Baruah completely fine after a delegation team visited GNRC, where Rajkanya Baruah is admitted, to take stock of her condition as she did not produce herself at the police station owing to a deteriorating health condition after being summoned by the police.

Already top police officials were present at GNRC and Rajkanya Baruah got arrested from there.

Rajkanya Baruah is accused of drink and drive and she had knocked down eight PWD workers with her speeding car on October 2 at around 2 am in the Rukmini gaon area. One pedestrian identified as Joseph has lost both his legs in the accident and is currently admitted in GMCH.

Rajkanya Baruah was granted bail within 24 hours of the accident citing no serious IPC sections clamped on her by police, which later received massive public criticism, and after that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma ordered re-investigation into the matter under Dispur Police Station second OC Jugananda Boro.

Rajkanya Baruah was shifted to ICU at GNRC after police summoned her yesterday, after which a team of GMCH doctors reached GNRC today, and found her in fine condition.

GMCH team of Doctors provided the report to GMCH Superintendent Abhijit Sharma. A final report was being forwarded to ACP Dispur.

Rajkanya Baruah has a criminal past and there were two FIRs against her in cases related to knocking down an ex-MLA's son over some feud in 2017 with her car and getting into a physical fight with on-duty police officials in front of Terra Maya pub in 2018.

She also spent a night in Latasil Police Station earlier for smashing liquor bottles near Governor's official residence Raj Bhawan in 2015.
