Goalpara youth arrested for posting objectionable comment on Facebook on Pulwama attack

Guwahati, February 18, 2019:

Goalpara youth, Shahanur Islam has been arrested by Dudhnoi police on Monday for posting an objectionable comment on facebook on the Pulwama attack.

Shahanur Islam is a resident of Nabagata Simlitola village in Goalpara district of Assam. A case has been registered under section 120(B)/153/153(A) IPC in Dudhnoi Police Station.

After the deadly terrorist attack in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, many anti-national comments have emerged in the social media platform.

Former cricket, Navjot Singh Sidhu, who was the member of ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, was asked to leave the show after commenting on the incident. In another incident, an Assistant Professor of English from Guwahati’s Icon Commerce College, Papri Z Banerjee, was detained by Chandmari police on Sunday after posting controversial comments on the social media platform.
