According to a theory of economics, bad money always drives good money out of circulation. So, the bad elements in the Congress have joined the BJP and thrown the good elements of BJP out, stated R P Sharma, MP from Tezpur Lok Sabha Constituency, likening the situation to that of the BJP in Assam, where the old leaders of the saffron party are allegedly being replaced by newcomers like Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Speaking exclusively to InsideNE, R P Sharma said, “The new leaders like Himanta Biswa Sarma and his team who have betrayed the Congress were introduced into the political arena of Assam, Northeast, and national platform as well by the party and given the precious departments of the state like health, public, educations, finance, etc. In spite of that, Himanta Biswa Sarma broke that house and dream of the Congress and joined the BJP party. On July 14, 2015, on the day of their joining, I was the only man who put forward strong objection but it was not heeded.”
“The new BJP who have joined the party gets the most importance; the old BJP leaders do not get any importance anymore. The entire BJP in Assam is in their pocket now. It has become impossible for the old guards like us to enter into the pockets and see where the BJP is”, he lamented.
