At least two people were injured when a grenade exploded accidentally in Jhargaon area of Jagiroad in Assam.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that the grenade belonged to a Border Security Force (BSF) team, deputed in the area on NRC duty.
The BSF personnel had reportedly lost the stun grenade on Friday and were looking for it, with the help of the local people.
A local person, Sushil Sarkar, found the stun grenade and removed the safety pin with help of pliers, leading to the explosion.
The injured were identified as Sushil Sarkar and Sagar Mandal, were provided first aid in a local hospital.
