Gupshup Music Awards 2019 handed out in glittering ceremony

Gupshup announced the Radio Gupshup 94.3 FM Music Awards 2019. The 4th Edition of the musical extravaganza was held on February 23 at Srimanta Sankardev Kalashetra.

Bollywood’s eminent singers such as Usha Uthup, Ustad Amzad Ali Khan as well as several celebrities and renowned figures of Assam and North East were present at the glittering ceremony. The crowd was on their feet as popular bands like Purple Haze, Tezpuriya Thespians, Mizo Dance Camp took the stage and belted out their popular numbers. Assam heartthrob Zubeen Garg was the showstopper and crooned many of his beloved songs to loud cheers from the huge crowd.

The award has been presented by Indian classical sarod player Amjad Ali Khan. There were 21 categories in which the awards were presented. The winners are listed below:

Best music director in film category - Deep Rajbonshi (Xihoron Ajana; Krodh)

Best singer female in film category - Gayatri Hazarika (Xiharan Ajana, Krodh)

Best singer male in film category – Neel Akash, Rohit sonar (Raktabeez)

Best song of the year in film category – Xiharan Ajana (Krodh),

Best music director in theatre category - Palash Surjya Gogoi (Rodali Tumi, Bhagyadevi theatre)

Best song in theatre category - Rodali Tumi (Bhagyadevi theatre)

Best Bihu song – Uja Bihu (Bastav Nath)

Best band 2019 – Cultivators (Mukhar Aror Mukha)

Listener’s choice award – Sui Diya Na (Deeplina Deka)

Best video song – Jhumuri (Chobi Productions)

Best mix mastering in audio category – Ibson Lal Baruah (Anubhobe Kotha Koi)

Best music composer in audio category – Palash Surya Gogoi (Konmani Xapon)

Best arranger in audio category – Harjeet Diaz (Ekhila Kagojot)

Best lyricist in audio category – Rahul Gautam Sharma (Noi)
