The city police have issued a high alert in the Guwahati city after the grenade blast near a mall situated at Zoo Road locality in the city. Twelve people injured got injured in the blast.
The Guwahati Police confirmed the use of Chinese grenade. Police have launched massive search operation hours after the blast. A team of the crime branch under the supervision of the commissioner of Police raided a house near Namghar path along the Masjid road, Panjabari and detained a woman along with a 9mm pistol.
The Commissioner of Police, Deepak Mishra on Thursday called for an emergency meeting with the Bazaar Committee, Mall authorities, Cinema Hall authorities, Mandir-Masjid Committee to discuss on the security issues.
it is to be mentioned that twelve persons have been injured in the blast. It is being reported that the condition of two of the persons who have been injured is very serious. It is being reported that security personnel has also been injured in the blasts. Two SSB jawans have also been injured in the blast which rocked the area.
Further investigation is on in relation to the blast.
