Another person died in open firing by the armed forces at Hatigaon in Assam’s Guwahati on Thursday during the ongoing protests against Citizenship Amendment Bill. Three others were also injured during the firing which took place near the Hatigaon High School, reports said.

Earlier in the evening a protestor, Dipanjal Das, a youth from Chaigaon who joined the protest in Guwahati, was shot by armed forces, Lachit Nagar. He later breathed his last at the GMCH Hospital in Guwahati.
It may be mentioned here that lakhs of protestors have moved onto the streets to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Bill, which has led to a situation of hue-and-cry across Assam and especially in Guwahati.
