GUWAHATI: Guwahati may go under total lockdown after two days if the cases of COVID -19 infections keep rising in the district.
Earlier this week, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Biswajit Pegu held a meeting with officials from the state health and police departments after which the city police was directed to ensure strict COVID-19 protocols in Kamrup (M).
It's worth noting that after several weeks of continuously dropping trends, the number of cases of infection in Kamrup (M) has suddenly increased in the last few days.
Reports suggest that if the numbers continue to rise, a city-wide lockdown will be very difficult to avert.
