Guwahati Police arrests yet another 'Munnabhai MBBS' amid pandemic

GUWAHATI: Guwahati police apprehended a fake doctor practicing as a cardiologist with a private hospital on Friday.

A K Sengupta was arrested by personnel of the Fatasil Ambari police station yesterday night.

Somewhat bizarrely, Sengupta had been working at Malati Sen Memorial Hospital located in Lokhra’s Jyotikushi area since the last 5-6 months.

“Fake Doctor practicing as Cardiologist with a private hospital under Fatasil Ambari PS arrested yesterday night. Another fake Dermatologist was nabbed from Maligaon few days ago”, Guwahati police tweeted.

In a similar incident, police personnel in Dibrugarh's Chabua had arrested a ‘fake doctor’ from Mokalbari tea estate in Dibrugarh district who hasn’t even cleared his 10th boards!

The fake medical officer had assumed the name of Dr. Stephen Antony since 2018, police said.
