The employees of GVK EMRI have suspended their strike till September 21 after Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had assured them of fulfilling their demands.
The employees called off their agitation on Tuesday after a delegation of the union had a meeting with Sonowal.
A leader of the employees’ union said they were assured that all their demands would be met with. He said Sonowal and Sarma had appealed to them to withdraw the agitation.
He said the employees would have another meeting scheduled for September 21.
“If the issues are not resolved even after that then we will resume our agitation from September 22,” he said.
The work for emergency response service resumed from Wednesday.
