TAMULPUR: Former Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief Hagrama Mohilary today continued his war of words with friend-turned-rival Himanta Biswa Sarma at Tamulpur under Baksa district where a huge rally was organized by the Bodoland People's Front (BPF).

Reacting to the Minister's threats of having him jailed if he has links with insurgent M Batha, Hagrama said, "He (Himanta) knows very well about the NLFB. They have been trying to lock me up for a long time -- since before the BTC elections. Even now, Himanta would lock me up today if he could. However, I will ensure that I am not jailed."

Himanta Biswa yesterday thundered against the former chief over his alleged encouragement towards militants like Batha who wish to resume militancy post signing of the peace pact.

“If he (Hagrama) does extremism with Batha, he is going straight to jail. Already there is a lot of evidence. We will ask the NIA to investigate the recovery of arms in Kokrajhar,” he said on the sidelines of an election rally in Udalguri district.

Mohilary, during his address earlier, said that his Bodoland People's Front (BPF) will return to power in the Bodo-dominated Council once the Mahajath wins the election.

"After the Mahajath forms the Government at Dispur, nobody can stop the BPF party from returning to power in the Council yet again," he said.

Continuing the political mud-slinging against rival Himanta Biswa Sarma, Mohilary said, "Himanta Biswa Sarma is having sleepless nights as his party is losing. All the 5 Constituencies in Karbi Anglong will also be won by the Mahajath."

"Everybody knows that the Mahajut will form the government. From the first phase of the polling itself, that has become crystal clear. The BJP will win 5-6 Seats at most. Some seats will also be won by the AJP-Raijor Dal combine," he predicted.

Mohilary further predicted that his party will retain all its 12 Seats in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).

"The United People's Party Liberal will not win a single seat nor will the BJP or any of its rivals. I am predicting that the BPF party will once again make a clean sweep."
